Motorcycling

I returned to motorcycling in September 2000 after a 30 year layoff! When I was a teenager, I started riding in Observed Trials and have always preferred off-road riding. The bike I bought in 2000, was a Suzuki DR350SE and I found it on the Ontario Dual Sports Club website.  I soon joined the ODSC and they turned out to to be a great group to ride with.

After our first winter with the DR350, we decided we needed a bigger bike for 2-up riding, so I added an ‘01 Kawasaki KLR650 in November 2001.  I rediscovered Ontario on my KLR - trips to the Bancroft area became my favourite ride. This has to be the best Dual Sport riding area in Ontario.

By late ‘04, the KLR was showing it’s age - 55,000 Km’s will do that - and it was time to trade before heading south for the winter. A new ‘04 Suzuki 650 V-Strom took it’s place and this should prove to be a great touring bike for 2-up riding.
